The College of Marin Mariners secured a thrilling 9-6 victory against the College of San Mateo Bulldogs on October 9, 2024. The Mariners took control early, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter with goals from Anabelle Phillips, and a pair from Marlee Ostrom, all assisted by Jane McNevin. San Mateo quickly responded with two unassisted goals to close the gap by the end of the first quarter. 

In the second quarter, Marin extended their lead as Delaney Mannor and McNevin each added goals, pushing the score to 5-2. However, San Mateo refused to back down, netting two more unassisted goals to make it 5-4 at halftime. 

The third quarter saw Marin pull away again, thanks to the outstanding play of Phillips, who added three more goals to her tally. San Mateo managed just one unassisted goal, and the quarter ended with the Mariners ahead 8-5. 

In the final quarter, Delaney Mannor scored once more for Marin, and San Mateo added another unassisted goal, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap. The Mariners' defense, led by goalie Marie Fehring with 17 saves, kept San Mateo at bay to secure the 9-6 win.
