The College of Marin Women’s Water Polo team is gearing up for an exciting 2024 season, building on the momentum of a historic 18-8 record last year. The Mariners’ impressive performance in 2023 secured them a 4th place finish in the highly competitive Coast-North Conference, setting the stage for an even stronger showing this season.
The Mariners welcome back Head Coach Steve Carrera and Assistant Coach Lia Oliver to the program. The team’s roster this year features a mix of seasoned returners and talented newcomers, all eager to make their mark in the pool. Returning players will look to build on the solid foundation laid last season, while new additions are expected to bring fresh energy and versatility to the squad. Together, they aim to surpass last year’s achievements and compete for a top spot in the Coast Conference.
The Mariners will kick off their 2024 campaign at home with the highly anticipated Mariner Invitational on August 30th and 31st at the Miwok Aquatic Center on the Indian Valley Campus. This early-season tournament will provide a valuable opportunity for the team to test their mettle against strong competition and set the tone for the rest of the season.
