The College of Marin women’s volleyball team earned a dominant 3-0 sweep over Los Medanos College on Wednesday night, winning by set scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-10. The Mariners controlled the match from start to finish, displaying sharp serving, balanced offense, and strong defensive play in front of their home crowd.
Zillah Landrum led the offensive charge with 10 kills on a .350 hitting percentage, along with one service ace for a team-high 11 points. Richel Gumpal added 7 kills and 5 digs, while Diamond Walker chipped in 3 kills and a solo block to total 4 points.
Setter Meagan Lee guided the attack with 13 assists, 3 aces, and a .500 hitting mark. Maia Cruz complemented the effort with 8 assists and a team-leading 5 service aces, keeping the Mustangs’ defense off balance. Defensively, Ryli Bowen anchored the back row with 15 digs and added 4 aces, while Anissa Inthavong contributed 2 kills and steady passing throughout the match.
With the sweep, Marin continues to build momentum heading into their next home matchup — the Mariners Dig Pink Event on Wednesday, October 29 at 6:00 PM. This special event supports the Side-Out Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding cutting-edge research and providing life-extending solutions for those living with metastatic breast cancer (MBC).
