The College of Marin women’s volleyball team pulled out a hard-fought 3–2 victory on the road against Contra Costa, overcoming a strong offensive performance from the Comets.
Marin jumped out to a 2–0 lead with a tight 27–25 win in the opener and a dominant 25–15 second set behind the defense of Ryli Bowen (12 digs) and steady setting from Meagan Lee and Maia Cruz.
Contra Costa stormed back, taking Sets 3 and 4 behind standout hitter Maria Grace Zeledon (21 kills), forcing a decisive fifth set.
The Mariners regrouped in the final frame, fueled by Zillah Landrum’s team-high 11 kills and clutch serving from Lee, Bowen, and Isabelle Nicolas, each recording two aces. Anissa Inthavong added two key blocks as Marin closed out the match 15–11.
