The first match of the day was a true nail-biter, going the distance to five sets with a final score of 25-19, 22-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-13. The second game was no less exciting, ending in four sets with scores of 25-20, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23. The crowd was on the edge of their seats as the Mariners demonstrated their exceptional teamwork and resilience.

Head Coach Kevin Seeley summed up the day's performance with the following words of wisdom: "We seemed to find our stride yesterday that meets the personality we have been putting forth in practice. We went back to the defense that we had been working on earlier in preseason, and that seemed to smooth out our flow and allow us to move more confidently and dynamically as a team. The team showed tremendous heart and resiliency in so many pressure moments of both matches. Neither team deserved to lose."

In the first game, the Mariners came out strong, taking the opening set 25-19. However, their opponents fought back hard, securing the next two sets. Determined to turn the tide, the Mariners rallied and took the fourth set 25-21, setting up a dramatic fifth-set showdown. The second game of the day saw the Mariners maintain their momentum. They dominated the first two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-16, showcasing their offensive prowess and strong defense. The opposing team made a valiant comeback in the third set, but the Mariners remained composed. In a thrilling fourth set, they closed out the match with a score of 25-23, sealing their second victory of the day.
