Marin Dominates Diablo Valley in 75–32 Home Victory

The College of Marin women’s basketball team put together its most complete performance of the season on Thursday night, rolling to a 75–32 win over Diablo Valley at home. 

The Mariners set the tone immediately with a 28–6 opening quarter, using defensive pressure and efficient shooting to take control. Marin hit 45% from three and 83% from the free-throw line while holding Diablo Valley to single digits in three of the four quarters. 

Sophomore guard Jaidyn Brown led the way with 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting, including two threes, while adding two assists. Brooklyn Carter matched her with 10 points of her own, knocking down a pair of threes and distributing four assists. 

Marin showed off its depth with 11 different players scoring. 

  • Sierra Calantas provided a strong interior presence with 9 points and four steals. 

  • A’liyah Holmes added 6 points and four rebounds. 

  • Erica Foster, Amara Galvan, and Kamari Johnson each chipped in 7 points off the bench. 

  • Ayah Abbassy controlled the boards, grabbing a team-high 8 rebounds. 

Defensively, the Mariners forced 15 turnovers and held Diablo Valley to just 32 total points, including only six in the final quarter. 

With the convincing win, Marin improves its momentum heading into the final stretch of nonconference play and continues to build confidence with balanced scoring and intensity on both ends of the floor.
