The Mariners Men's and Women's Swim and Dive team kicked off the 2022 campaign with a successful start at the Santa Rosa Junior College relays. The relay team of Sophomore Tessa Pares, and a pair of freshmen, Maya Hunter and Beatrix Franus, won the 3 x 50 backstroke relay on Friday in the opening meet of the season, featuring teams from American River, SRJC, Sierra, and other top programs in Northern California. The Mariners also placed third in two races and fourth in another.

"I'm excited about how we started this season," said Head Coach Steve Carrera. "Our team has been working hard leading up to the start of the season and it showed this past weekend. I'm excited not only to have some top tier swimmers in our conference but also that we have added depth."

Next the Mariners head to the Coast Conference Kick Off meet at Las Positas College.
