Sophomore swimmer Sasha Urban was named Co-Mariner of the Month for March. The breaststroke specialist was sensational at the Mariner Invitational on March 6th. Urban racked up a series of excellent results to cap a tremendous swimming career at College of Marin.
In March’s lone meet, Urban took first in a pair of individual races and helped her relay teams to two second place finishes. Sasha started her meet with the Team Medley Relay. She held her own in the breaststroke portion, putting her team in first place for the time being. Though they fell at the end, the Mariners grabbed second with a time of 2:28.07.
Urban destroyed her competition in the 100 Yard Breast with a time of 1:15.07. She was so dominant that her closest competition was more than 20 seconds behind. She doubled her first place results in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:34.20 to take first place. Urban regrouped with her squad to help them take a second place finish in the 200 Yard Free. She was the anchor, helping her team clock in at 2:15.53.
Though Urban only competed in four meets in 2020 she recorded some impressive numbers. During the season she battled for a pair of victories, three second place finishes and two third place finishes in just dozen individual entries.
The sophomore finished up her Mariners’ career in style and looks forward to a promising future in the pool.
