Mariners Dominates Eagles with 4-0 Home Victory

The College of Marin men’s soccer team delivered a commanding 4-0 win over the Mendocino College Eagles in Kentfield on Tuesday, November 12th. The Mariners controlled the game from the outset, with a balanced attack and solid defense that stifled the Eagles’ offense. 

Richard Amador Garcia opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off a well-placed pass from Jhonatan McKenzie to give Marin an early lead. McKenzie was instrumental in the first half, adding another assist on a 31st-minute goal by defender Stiven McKenzie, doubling Marin’s advantage to 2-0 at halftime. 

The Mariners continued their offensive momentum in the second half. In the 72nd minute, Antoni Cortez capitalized on a scoring chance to make it 3-0, followed by a strong unassisted goal by Jhonatan McKenzie in the 77th minute, sealing the 4-0 final score. 

Goalkeeper Adrian DeLeon anchored the defense with seven saves. Marin’s defense held Mendocino scoreless, consistently preventing their attempts and maintaining control throughout. 

With this decisive home victory, the Mariners conclude their conference season 7-2-3 with an overall record of 7-11-4.
