Marin Overpowers Skyline 89–61 Behind Borgol’s Dominant Double-Double

The College of Marin men’s basketball team delivered a commanding home victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Skyline College 89–61 behind a breakout performance from sophomore forward Olivier Borgol.

Borgol was unstoppable in the paint, scoring a game-high 34 points on 12-of-16 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds and finishing a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line. His physical presence set the tone early and allowed Marin to control the interior throughout the game.

The Mariners led 39–36 at halftime after a competitive first 20 minutes, but a 50-point second half fueled by defensive stops and aggressive play at the rim blew the game open. Marin held Skyline to just 25 points after the break.

Kingston Carmona put together another efficient outing with 15 points and six rebounds while hitting 7-of-8 from the line. Caijonte Andrews added 11 points off the bench, knocking down two threes, and Te’Shawn Gamble and K’Hamani Olivacce each chipped in 9 points.

Marin’s defense tightened as the game progressed, forcing 17 turnovers and holding Skyline to 20% shooting from beyond the arc. The Mariners also won the rebounding battle 35–34 and outscored Skyline 26–10 at the free-throw line.

Skyline was led by Zidane Auzarang, who scored 21 points, and Isiah Dixon, who added 17.

Up next, the Mariners will travel to Saratoga to take on the West Valley College Vikings on November 25th at 3:30 PM.
