Sophomore Volleyball player Salomi Galodamu was named as Co-Mariner of the Month for October. The outside hitter was instrumental in her team’s 5-2 record during the month which saw her post career highs in kills and points per set.
Galodamu began October narrowly missing a double double in Marin’s 3-0 victory over the College of Alameda. She had nine kills and nine digs to go with one solo block and three block assists for a 12.5-point evening.
Her next match against Solano College was long and hard fought. Though the Mariners fell 3-1, Galodamu was excellent with 16 kills and 18 digs to go with three block assists. Her 17.5 points were a career best at that point, but it did not take long for her to better that mark.
The Terra Linda High graduate had 18 points on the 10th of October versus Yuba College in the Mariners’ 3-1 victory. Galodamu compiled a vast stat sheet that evening with 14 kills, three aces, two block assists and 18 digs. She bested herself again versus Napa with 19 points via 14 kills, two aces and three solo blocks in College of Marin’s 3-0 sweep of the Storm.
Salomi finished the month with a pair of 17 point outings against Mendocino and Los Medanos. She had 13 kills, three aces, two block assists and eight digs against the Eagles before posting 12 kills, three aces, one solo block and two block assists against the Mustangs on Halloween.
In October Galodamu played in all seven matches and 24 sets. She had 87 kills for 3.63 kills per set and a hitting percentage of .183. She had 12 aces, and 84 digs in October while recording 17 total blocks for an average of 0.71 blocks per set. She scored 110 points in the month good for 4.6 per set.
Galodamu had a very impressive October and looks to continue through the end of her Sophomore season.
