Undermanned Mariners Fall At Solano 3-0

College of Marin Volleyball fell in their penultimate match of the season to Solano College in Fairfield on Friday. The Mariners were missing several key players due to injury and as such they could not contain the power of the Solano Falcons. While the Mariners did drop the match 3-0 there were several excellent individual performances by Marin.  

The first set was very close as both teams clicked on offense. Solano was practically un stoppable as they had 11 kills and just three errors. Marin managed 12 kills of their own but eight errors ultimately sunk them in a 25-21 loss.

The second set Marin stay close, but fall 25-17. Solano was practically perfect, with 14 kills against just four errors, while Marin made six hitting errors in the loss. The third set saw Marin run out of steam as they fell 25-13, while Solano hit .414 with 14 kills and just two errors.

Sophomore Alejandra Leon led Marin with 13 points and 15 digs. She had 11 kills and two aces while adding an assist on the evening. Sasha Urban matched Leon with 15 digs and had eight kills and a block assist of her own. Sarah Harris had 10 digs, 17 assists and three kills while Magnolia Johnson joined the dig party with 11 of her own digs to go with a pair of aces.

Next and last up for Marin is a road match at Yuba College on Friday, November 9th at 6pm.
