After a third grueling week of matches, the College of Marin Men's Soccer team is feeling the grind. They fell 2-0 on Friday at Skyline College in San Bruno. COM fought for their chances but unfortunately, they were unable to find the back of the net.
Skyline on the other hand peppered the Marin goal all day, launching 14 shots on goal. William Finnie, the Marin keeper did his best to keep Skyline off the board but they managed to score twice, once in each half. Frustrations began to boil over for the Mariners in the second half as Bryan Rodas and Henry Mata both received yellow cards.
It was a frustrating way to end a week which saw the team grab their first win of the season on Monday 2-0 over Siskiyous College.
Coach Morrison was less than pleased with the outcome and performance of his team, "We were not good in the small areas of the game that will allow us to dictate games. We were poor in possession which meant we didn't create many opportunities in front of goal and consequently always on the back foot...We hoped to have a different outcome but at the end of day we did not earn it."
The team's next game is Tuesday at Ohlone College at 4:30PM.
