College of Marin closed out 2018 with their second straight victory in conference competition on Friday in Napa. The Mariners dominated in an 80-57 win over the Napa Valley Storm . They controlled the game from the outset and received contributions up and down the roster. 11 of 12 Mariners scored in the game and 10 scored four or more points.
Marin opened the game with tremendous defensive effort that forced turnovers which directly led to easy buckets for the Mariners. The Mariners led at halftime and looked to extend their lead in the second half.
The Mariners continued their excellent defense through the second half, limiting the Storm's chances while continuing to score, despite emptying their bench down the stretch. When time expired, the Mariners earned an 80-57 victory in one of their most well-balanced games of the season.
Joey Potts had eight points, six rebounds and two assists. Zamaria Odom had eight points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Chris Kress had a pair of made three pointers while Alfonso Murrie had six points and a pair of assists. Jalen Chandler filled up the stat sheet with four points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The Mariners shot 57.4% as a team and were 20-25 from the free throw line.
