College of Marin sophomore Adam Hussain is Mariner of the Month for April. The outfielder for the Mariners’ Baseball team was instrumental in helping the squad secure the Bay Valley Championship.
Hussain was magnificent in the month of April, as he hit .500 with 26 hits in 52 at bats across 12 games. He hit two home runs and seven doubles while driving in 15 runs in the process while scoring 10 of his own. In the 2018 season Hussain hit .373 with seven home runs and 40 RBIs.
He opened the month with pair of home runs at Mendocino College on April 3rd. He was 4 for 5 in the game with a go-ahead homerun in the 10th inning which led to a 4-3 Marin victory. Hussain it safely in 11 of 12 games in the month, and had multiple base hits in nine of them. He had a hitting streak of 15 games that was snapped in the final game of the month at Los Medanos on April 27th.
After his month of April ended, Hussain continued his excellent run of play with a multi homerun game against the College of San Mateo Bulldogs on May 4th at Laney College. He was 2 for 3 with two homers and three RBIs on the day.
The month of April, and the entire season in general earned Hussain a place on the Bay Valley Conference 1st Team.
