Freshman Remy Pelzman was named Co-Mariner of the Month for November. The outside hitter for the Volleyball team competed in all six of Marin’s matches during the month and helped her squad to a 5-1 record to end the season.
Pelzman began the month with a strong showing in the Mariners’ 3-1 win over Napa Valley on November 1st. She recorded a double double with 10 kills, and 16 digs as well as a pair of aces.
She followed that match with an excellent defense effort in the Mariners’ five set loss to the Los Medanos Mustangs on November 4th. In the match Pelzman recorded 27 digs and nine kills as the Mariners were narrowly beaten in five sets. Pelzman nearly had another double double against Contra Costa on November 6th with an efficient 10 kills and nine digs. She recorded a hitting percentage of .692 with just 1 error in 13 attacks.
The freshman continued her string of dominance on November 13th against the College of Alameda with 11 kills, two block assists and 16 digs in the Mariners’ 3-0 victory. Pelzman’s final match of the season saw her record 12 kills and 13 digs in Marin’ sweep of the Yuba College 49ers.
In 22 November sets Pelzman averaged 2.68 kills, 3.77 digs and 3.0 points per set to go with a .191 kill percentage.
Remy Pelzman looks to continue her indoor dominance in the 2020 Volleyball season.
