At College of Marin, Dohn received First Team Camino Norte Conference honors for football in the midst of a winless season. Dohn, along with his teammates also set the College of Marin record for the 4x100 relay in 1970. “I cannot give back what [College of Marin] gave to me” Dohn said, “It was a magical time for me,” as he fondly remembers.

He was heavily influenced by the coaching staff; notably coaches Pete Limm, Jim McGowan and John Panagakis. After his time at College of Marin, Dohn attended the University of Pacific where he continued to play football. After graduating from Chico State University, he competed in men’s fast-pitch softball and won four National Championship, as well as, a New Zealand National Championship in 1981.
